SURRY COUNTY, VA - DEEDS - Richard Parker to John Allen, 16 Dec 1728 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Deeds: Richard Parker-John Allen, Southmark Parish, Surry Co, VA INDENTURE BETWEEN RICHARD PARKER & JOHN ALLEN (1728) THIS INDENTURE made the sixteenth day of December in the year of Our Lord one thousand seven hundred and twenty eight BETWEEN Richard Parker of the Parish of Lawn's Creek in the County of Surry of the one part and John Allen of Southmark Parish in the County of Surry aforesaid of the other part. WITNESSETH that the said Richard Parker for and in consideration of the sum of five shillings to him in hand paid the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and thereof doth acquitt and discharge the said John Allen, his executors, administrators and assigns. HATH bargained and sold and doth by these presents bagain and sell unto the said John Allen, his executors, administrators, and assigns a certain tract or parcell of land with the appurtenances thereof situate lying and being on ye north east side of Austins branch inthe parish of Lawnes Creek in the County of Surry aforesaid containing by estimation forty five acres of land, be the same more or less, & is bounded as followeth, viz: BEGINING at a corner white oak by the side of Austins branch aforesaid thence north forty four degrees east one hundred & ninety nine pole to a black oak then north thirty degrees west forty one pole to a hickory then south forty four degrees west one hundred & seventy two pole to a white oak in Austins branch aforesaid & down the various courses of the run? of the said branch to the beginning, the same being part of a Pattent for five hundred & forty acres of land formerly granted to the said Richard Parker and also the rerversion and reversions, remainder and remainders thereof. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the aforesaid land with its appurtenances unto the said John Allen, his executors, administrators and assigns from the day next before the date hereof unto the end term and for and during the term of one year from thence next ensuing to the intent that by virtue thereof and of the statute for transfering uses into possession, the said John Allen may be in the actuall possession of the said land and be enabled to take and accept of a grant and release of the premises to him, his heires, & assigns for ever. IN WITNESS whereof the said Richard Parker hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year above WRITTEN.
