SURRY COUNTY, VA - DEEDS - John Allen to Samuell Lancaster, 20 Aug 1712 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Deeds: John Allen-Samuell Lancaster, Southmark Parish, Surry Co, VA OBLIGATION BOND BETWEEN JOHN ALLEN & SAMUEL LANCASTER (1712) KNOW ALL men by these presents that I, John Allen of the County of Surry, am held firmly bound unto Samuell Lancaster of the County aforesaid in the full & just sume of twelve thousand pounds of good merchantable tobacco in sufficient caske to the true payment whereof to the said Samuell, his heirs, executors &administrators and assigns. I do bind myself, my heirs, executors & administrators firmly by these presents.In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand & seal this twentieth day of August 1712. THE CONDITION of this obligation is such that if the above bound John Allen, his heirs, executors, administrators do & shall from time to time & at all times forever hereafter well & truly observe, performe, fullfill & keep well & singular the covenants, grants, articles, causes & agreements whatsoever which in his and their parts & behalfs is, are & ought to be observed, performed,fullfilled & kept, mentioned & contained in certain Indenture & Release of the date above written & made or mentioned to be made between the said John of the first part & the said Samuell of the other part & that in & by all things according to the tenor, effect, & true meaning of the same Indentures of Release without fraud or coven, that then this obligation to be void & of no effect or elce it to stand to abide in full power, force & virtue. John Allen sealed with a wafer Signed, sealed & delivered in the presence of: Henry Harrison Thomas Eldridge At a court held at Southmark for the County of Surry August ye 20th 1712. This day appeared in Court, the above named John Allen & did acknowledge the above specified contents to be his reall, act & deed which is ordered to be recorded & is recorded by: John Allen Cl. Cur.
