SURRY COUNTY, VA - DEEDS - Margaret Coker to Anthony Evans, 17 Jan 1720 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Surry County VA Wills & Deeds ?, pgs 312-313 FHLC #34102 This Indenture made the Seavententh day of January in the Seavententh Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George by the Grace of God of Great Brittain France Ireland C Virginia King Defender of the Faith be and in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seaven hundred and twenty, Between Margaret Coker of the Parish of Lawnes Creek in the County of Surry of the one part and Anthony Evans of the said parish and County of the other part Witnesseth that the sd Margaret Coker for divers good Causes and Considerations her thereunto receiving? but more especially for and in Consideration of ye Sum of Twenty pounds Currant money of Great Brittain to her in hand paid by the said Anthony Evans at and before the ensealing and Delivery of these presents the receipt whereof and herself therewith fully Satisfyed Contented and paid she doth hereby acknowledge Have given granted Sold Promised Released Aliened Transferred Enfeoffed and Confirmed and by these presents for herself her heirs and Assignes for Ever he being already in full and peaciable possession of the Premises hereafter mentioned by Vertue of a Lease thereof made by the said Margaret Coker unto the said Anthony Evans bearing date the day before the date of these presents all that Right Title Possession Claim and Demand of her the said Margaret Coker of in or to a Certain Tract or parcell of Land containing by Estimation fifty Acres of Land be the same more or less Situate lying and being on the South side of Cyprus Swamp in the parish of Lawnes Creek in the County of Surry aforesaid bounded as followeth Vizt beginning at a pine on William Evans his line and so along a line of marked trees to a pine on the mouth of the poplar branch and so along a line of marked Trees to a poplar on ??on Hills line and so down the Beosan? branch to William Evans his line and so to the first Station it being part of a parcell of Land formerly granted to John Coker and Richard Bennet late of the County of Surry by Pattent for fourteen hundred Acres of Land To have and to hold the said tract or parcell of Land and all and Singular other? the premises herein before mentioned and intended to be hereby granted Released and Confirmed with their and every of their Appurtenances unto the said Anthony Evans his heirs and Assigns for Ever fifty Acres to be held of our Sovereign Lord the King his heirs and Successors in free and Common Souage? and not in Cap??? only Knights Service Yielding and Paying the Quell rents due & accustomed to be paid for the same being one Shilling Yearly for every fifty Acres to be paid at ye feast of St Michael the Arch Angel & the said Margaret Coker for herself her heirs Executrs and Administrators do hereby Covenant promise and grant to and with the said Anthony Evans his heirs and Assignes that she the said Margaret Coker new at the time of the Sealing and Delivery of these presents are and stands Lawfully and Rightfully Served of all and Singular the aforesaid Tract or parcell of Land of and for a good and absolute Estate of Inheritance in fee Simple and the said Margaret Coker her heirs Executrs and Admrs the said hereby granted premises with the Appurtenances unto the said Anthony Evans his heirs C Assigns against all persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and for Ever defend and that it shall and may be Lawfull for him ye said Anthony Evans his heirs and Assignes from time to time and at all times for ever hereafter peaciably & Quietly to have hold occupy possess and enjoy the same to his and their own proper use & uses and that Clear & free from all and all manner of former and other Gifts Grants Bargains & Sales Mortgages Joyntures Judgments Extrats & Executions and all other manner of Incumbrances whatsoever In Witness of all which the Party first above named to these presents Indentures here set to her hand and Seal the day & Year first above written: ---- Signed Sealed C delivered In ye presence of her Thomas Athirson Margaret + Coker mark his his Samuel / Vessed?
