LAND BETWEEN JEREMIAH ELLIS, JR & SON (partial)

BE IT KNOWN to all men by these presents that I, Jeremiah Ellis,Jr do give
unto my son, Edward Ellis, a certain parcell of land about one hundred seventy
acres by estimation lying, being in Surry County upon John Chehoconk? Swamp
beginning at the mouth of the branch that runneth betwixt the said Edward, his
brother Jeremiah, their plantations toe? up ye branch to another pine at the
head of the branch to along a row of marked trees, ye I the said Jeremiah
Ellis line did make to a pine in the line that runs ngi'd west? 60? chain to
inexide? it a corner tree, toe along that line to a black oake saplin a corner
tree between John Battell, ye said Edward Ellis, toe down a row of an arked?

which was proved in Surry County court on 5 March 1694.  I include this small
portion in the event it may help those researching the Ellis name.
