SURRY COUNTY, VA - DEEDS - Luke Measell to James Bynehanz, 2 Oct 1703 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Deeds: Luke Measell-James Bynehanz, Southmark Parish, Surry Co, VA INDENTURE- LUKE MEASELL-JAMES BYNEHANZ (1703) To all to whom this deed indentured of bargaine and sale shall come. Know ye that I, Luke Measell of North Carolina for a valuable consideration of one thousand pounds of tobacco, cash to me in hand paid at and before ye ensealing and delivery thereof payed by James Bynehanz of Surry County in Virginia. The receipt hereof I hereby acknowledge, have bargained, sold, and delivered and do hereby bargain, sell, and delivered unto ye said James Bynehanz and to his heirs & assignes forever one hundred acres of land be ye same more or less lying and being in Southmark parish in the County aforesaid on the northside of the Blackwater Swamp beginning at the mouth of a great branch to up the said branch to the said line toe along the said line to a stake from thence along a line of markt trees to another branch toe along another branch to along the said branch to the first station, the said land being part of a tract of land sold by Robert Warren to Luke Measell. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD, the said one hundred acres of land be the same, more or less, with all said appurtenances thereto belonging to him, the said, James Bynehanz, his heires, and assignes forever in a full ample manner to all intents and purposes in ye law or the most learned can devise and I, the said Luke Measell, do hereby oblige myself? to warrant and defend this, my sale of the above said land and with the appurtenances, to him, the said James Bynehanz, his heires, and assigns forever against the claime of any person or persons whatsoever and to acknowledge this my deed either by myself or lawful attorney when thereto lawfully required.
