We have given granted and confirmed and by these presents for us our heirs and successors Do give grant and confirm unto Thomas Dunn of Surry County one certain tract or parcell of land containing one hundred and twenty five acres lying and being on the North side of Guillum’s Branch on the South side of Nottoway River in the County aforesaid and bounded as followeth (to wit) Beginning at a white oak by the side of Guillum’s Branch aforesaid thence Northwest by North one hundred and thirty poles to a black oak thence South eighty five degrees West ninety nine poles to a red oak thence South twenty degrees West one hundred and ten poles to a lightwood post in a line of John Guillums land thence by Guillums land east by North sixty three poles to a sweet gum in a small branch thence down the various courses of the run of the said Branch to Guillums Branch aforesaid and up the various of the Run of that Branch to the beginning with all &c. To have & hold &c behold &c yielding and paying &c provided &c. In witness &c witness our truly and well beloved Hugh Drysdale Esq our Lieut. Govner at Wmsburgh under the seal of our said Colony the ninth day of July one thousand seven hundred and twenty four in the year of our reign.
