VA Deed Bk. 6, pgs 188-189 FHLC #34120 This Indenture made this 8th day of November in the year of Christ one thousand, eight hundred & twenty, between Hubbard Sledge of the County of Sussex of the one part and Thomas Wren of Surry County of the other, Witnesseth, that the said Hubbard Sledge for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and ninety dollars, to him and his heirs & secured by the said Thomas Wren, he the said Hubbert Sledge, has granted, bargained and sold & by this Indenture, does grant bargain and Sell, alien, enfeoff and confirm unto the said Thomas Wren & to his heirs and assigns forever, one certain tract or parcel of Land, lying & being in the County of Surry, containing by estimation fifty two and four fifth acres, be the same more or less, marked and bounded as follows: beginning at John Wren's gate-post, a corner in said Sledge's and Wren's line, thence said Wren's line S 41 ½o W 85 poles to large red Oak, S 42 ¼o W 42 poles to corner pine for said Wren & Hamlin Hait, thence a newly make line N 21 2/3o W 17 poles to small corner pine, N 18 1/3 E 41 poles to an apple tree, N 22 1/3o E 40 poles to stake in fence (to be a stob? set up) N 2 ¾o E 70 ½ poles A pine on the North side of Walls Bridge road, thence the said road N 46 1/3 E 45 1/3 poles N 71o E 20 poles to where said John Wren's line intercets said Road, thence said Wren's line and land, S 4o E 104 poles to the gate-post began at; To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of Land, to the said Thomas Wren and to his heirs & assigns forever, also all trees, woods, underwoods, commons common of pastures, profits, commodities, advantages, emoluments & hereditaments whatsoever thereunto appurtaining, except liberty of only taking off the fence nails that are now on it. And the said Hubbard Sledge does further covenant and agree to and with the said Thomas Wren, that this present Deed of Bargain and Sale shall be to him the said Thomas Wren and to his heirs and assigns forever a good and sufficient warranty against him, his heirs or assigns, and all claiming by, through or under them, as well as against the claim or demand of all & every other person or persons whosoever.
