SURRY COUNTY, VA - DEEDS - Release of Claim for Thomas R. Blow Estate Purchased by Frances Wrenn, 25 Jan 1814 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Surry Co. VA Deed Bk. 4, pgs 286-287 FHLC #34119 This Indenture made this twenty fifth day of January One thousand eight hundred and fourteen between James Simpson of the County of Surry, Trustee, and William Bailey of the County of Southampton exor of Thomas R. Blow deceased also Josiah Wrenn legatee of Frances Wrenn deceased of the third part, Witnesseth that the said James Simpson in consideration of one dollar in hand paid and by virtue of a deed of Trust to him executed on the 2d day of Jany A.D. 1807 to secure to the said Wm Bailey exor of said Thomas R. Blow a certain sum of money to wit $700 which to the said Thomas Blows estate was due from Frances Wrenn whose legatee is Josiah Wrenn as mentioned above and the said Frances Wrenn having entered into said deed of Trust and mentioned therein a certain piece of land which was intended to secure the above amount of $700 which was the amount due for the tract of land mentioned in said deed and which was purchased of Wm Bailey exor of said Tho R. Blow and sold under the will of the said Blow also duly recorded in the County of Surry to which record reference may be had. The said Josiah Wrenn legatee of said Frances Wrenn having discharged the said debt named in the trust deed & fully satisfied the said Wm Bailey. Now therefore the Parties to whose trust and to whose benefit the said deed of trust was executed do acknowledge to have received from the said Josiah Wrenn legatee of said Frances Wrenn the sum of seven hundred pounds as named in the deed of Trust executed for said Frances Wrenn in his left time to said William Bailey executor of Thomas R. Blow deceased. Therefore the said Wm Bailey exor &c and James Simpson Trustee do release all claim, title and demand which they held to the said tract of land before mentioned and lying in the County of Surry which was purchased of Blow's exor unto the said Josiah Wrenn legatee &c of Frances Wrenn deceased in consequence of full compensation being made to them by said Josiah Wrenn legatee of Frances Wrenn – In testimony whereof we have hereto affixed our hands and seals this twenty fifth day of January A.D. 1814 as above --------- The words "in consideration of one James Simpson (seal) dollar in hand paid" also the word Wm Bailey (seal) legatee as interlined in this deed were Josiah Wreen (seal) written before the signing of said instrument Teste A.
