Know all Men by these Presents that I Thomas Wrenn of Surry County have for 
Divers good Causes but more Especially for the love and good will I have for 
my Son in law John Hart I do by these Presents give grant and Confirm unto my 
said Son John Hart one Negro Slave Named Annica to have and to Hold the afore 
said Negro Slave to the said John Hart and his heirs to the only proper use 
and behoof of him the said John Hart his Heirs and Assigns for ever and I the 
said Thomas Wrenn doth hereby for my self my heirs Executors or Administrators 
the afore said Negro Slave annica  to the said John Hart his Heirs and Assigns 
for ever against the Right Title Claim property or Demand of any person  or 
Persons Whatsoever Warrant and Shall and will by these Presents for ever 
Defend  Witness my Hand and Seal this fifth Day of November Anno 
Domini One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty Eight –

Previces to the Signing this Presents the above mentioned John Hart doth 
covenant and agree to and with his said Father in Law Thomas Wrenn that his

Possession for and during the said Thomas Wrenns Natural Life ---

This Deed of Gift from Thomas Wrenn to John Hart was Presented in Court and 
being first Proved by the Oaths of Thomas Brock, Joseph Hart and Henry Hart 
the Witnesses thereto was by the Court Ordered to be Recorded ---
