All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Surry Methodists 25th Anniversary Sunday, April 30th The Surry Methodist Church, Surry, Virginia, will observe its 25th Anniversary on Sunday, April 30th, with morning worship at eleven and afternoon worship at 2:30. The Rev. A.W. Linthicum, one of the former pastors of the church, will deliver the morning sermon. Holy Communion will be administered during this service. The afternoon sermon will be delivered by another former pastor. A brief history of the church and communications from former pastors will he read. The choir of the church will render special selections during both services. A well planned dinner will be served, from tables on the lawn, following the morning service. All living former pastors have been invited to attend this "home coming" and four are expecting to be present. The appointed pastors to this Church have been as follows: Rev. J. Fletcher Osborne, 1932-1925; Rev. C.H. Williams, 1925-1926; Rev. A.W. Linthicum, 1920-1930; Rev. C.L. Boggs, 1930-1931; Rev. C.E. Derby, 1931-1933; Rev. W.C. Freeman, 1933-1935; Rev. E.C. Dejarnette, 1935-1938; Rev. R.M. Robertson, 1938-1940; Rev. G.M. Bishop, 1940-1944; Rev. E.C. Smith, 1944-1948; Rev. R. J. Callis Jr., 1948- Invitations are being sent to all living former members to attend this important event in the history of Surry Church.
