Widow Hannah, 1 child  
Surry County

Surry County  June Court 1786: Ordered that it be certified to the Executive 
that Hannah Moody, widow of Samuel Moody, who enlisted a soldier in the fourth 
Virginia regiment on the Continental Establishment and who died in the Service 
about the close of the year 1776 is still a widow with one child and hath 
received a support for one year and no more.

  I do with the advice of Council herby certify that Hannah Moody, widow of 
Samuel Moody late a private of the 4thVirginia Regiment  who died in the service 
of the United States is allowed the sum of 6 pounds yearly to commence from the 
1st  day of January l786. Given under my hand as Governor of the Commonwealth of 
Virginia, at Richmond, this 8th day of March 1787.

In 1792 Hannah made oath that she had three children living with her, one at the 
age of 18, and it was recommended that she be continued on the list of 
pensioners by Jacob Fauleon, C F C.

Last payment recorded-January 1 1793 of six pounds 
st recorded payment--28 October 1810
