SURRY COUNTY, VA - MILITARY - Samuel Moody, Revolutionary War Pension Affidavit ----¤¤¤---- Source: Library of Virginia Digital Collection Moody, Samuel Pen. 294 1786-1794 Soldier 4th Virginia Regiment Widow Hannah, 1 child Surry County Surry County June Court 1786: Ordered that it be certified to the Executive that Hannah Moody, widow of Samuel Moody, who enlisted a soldier in the fourth Virginia regiment on the Continental Establishment and who died in the Service about the close of the year 1776 is still a widow with one child and hath received a support for one year and no more. A copy teste: Jacob Fauleon C F C I do with the advice of Council herby certify that Hannah Moody, widow of Samuel Moody late a private of the 4thVirginia Regiment who died in the service of the United States is allowed the sum of 6 pounds yearly to commence from the 1st day of January l786. Given under my hand as Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, at Richmond, this 8th day of March 1787.
