CAM ADAMS BURIED IN SURRY SUNDAY, DEC. 19TH Edward Cam Adams, 87, a retired farmer of Surry, died December 17th after being confined to his bed for two weeks. He was a son of the late Henry Adams and Mrs. Mary Allen Adams of Charles City and had spent most of his life in Surry. He was a member of Surry Baptist Church and was an active deacon and trustee as long as he was able to attend, after which he was elected deacon for life. Mr. Adams is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lucie Seward Adams of Surry; one son, J. Henry Adams of Richmond; six daughters, Mrs. Clinton Lane of Surry, Mrs. C.M. Farmer of Troy, Ala., Mrs. S.M. Hall of Charlottesville; Mrs. C.M. Stallings of Dendron, Mrs. George Wallace of Lynenburg; Mrs. C.D. Ellis of Burrowsville; 21 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held in the Surry Baptist Church by is pastor Rev. J.F. Colston, with burial in the town cemetery. Pallbearers were J.H. Adams, Jr., Edward Adams, Julian Bowles; Sankey Hall, Jr., Ben Peale, and H.P. Perry. ****************************************************************************** Edw. Cam Adams, Died Friday at Home Near Surry *** Edward Cam Adams, 87, retired farmer, died Friday at his home near Surry. The funeral service was held at 2:30 P. M. Sunday in Surry Baptist Church with Rev. J. E. Colston officiating. Burial was in Surry Cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lucie Seward Adams; one son, J. Henry Adams of Richmond; six daughters, Mrs. F.C. Lane of Surry; Mrs. C.M. Farmer of Troy, Alabama; Mrs. S.M. Hall of Charlottesville; Mrs. Clarence Stallings of Elberon; Mrs. J.W.G. Wallace of Lynchburg; Mrs. C.D. Ellis of Burrowsville; 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
