She was the daughter of the late Edward W. and Frances C. Barlow, and was preceded by her husband, Edward B. Bish, her brother, Harry E. Barlow, and two sisters, Virginia N. Barlow and Sara B. Dorris. She was a member of Dendron Baptist Church, and a former employee of C&P Telephone Company. She was an avid music lover. Until recently she traveled throughout the tri-cities and surrounding counties just to listen to the music and "Keep the beat with her feet" as she liked to say. She is survived by her niece, Donna Y. Martin; a great-niece, Jessica B. Tipton; and a great-nephew, Bret A. Martin. Additionally she is survived by her living church family at Dendron Baptist Church and three special friends, Jeannie Newbold, Bill Warren, and Earl Butler. The family will receive friends at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, from 1 to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2011. The funeral service will begin immediately following visitation with the Rev. Harry Warren officiating. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park, of Birdsong Road in Prince George.
