Born in Nansemond County, she was the oldest member of Dendron United Church of Christ. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. L. Thurman Williams of Dendron and Mrs. Ruth B. Morey of Forrest Heights, Md.; a sister, Mrs. Anne S. Gregory of Norfolk; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Thursday in Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, by the Rev. A.C. Todd. Burial will be in the Wakefield Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight in the funeral home and asks that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Dendron Christian Church. ****************************************************************************** HATTIE S. BISHOP DENDRON - Hattie Skinner Bishop, 94, of Dendron died July 12 at Johnson Home for Adults in Suffolk. A native of Nansemond County, she was the oldest member of Dendron United Church of Christ. She was the daughter of the late Javan W. and Indiana Harrell Skinner and was the widow of James Robert Bishop. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. L. Thurman Williams of Dendron, and Mrs. Ruth Morey of Forest Heights, Md.; a sister, Mrs. Anne S. Gregory of Norfolk; two grandchildren, Robert E. Morey, Jr. of Charleston, S.C. and Marilyn M. Eavey of Williamsport, Md.; and five great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held at Purviance Funeral Chapel and burial was at Wakefield Cemetery. The Rev. A.C. Todd officiated.
