(Refer to 1/20/08 church bulletin) She lived in her home place (where Sonny Boykin lives today) before and after her marriage to Charles Boykin. They were married for 54 years and raised six children, five daughters and one son. Helen worked for Judge Carlton Holladay and in Jim Renney's law office for many years. She was a member and attended Rocky Hock Church her entire life. Helen was very active in her church, and music was one of her many loves and talents, playing the piano at Sunday school many years. Each year she organized and directed a full Men's Choir to sing at Revival services. People attended the Revival services to hear the Men's Choir as much as they did to hear the Message! Another love and talent of Helen's was the refinishing of furniture. Helen and Gaynelle Whitmore refinished all of the wooden chairs, tables, hat racks, and both pianos in the church as part of the 150th Year Celebration of Rocky Hock Church. Helen and her husband, Charles, are buried in Rocky Hock Cemetery. Thanks to Jean Boykin Holdsworth for the information and picture.
