All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Mrs. Mary Booth [sic; Boothe] Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Booth, who died at the home of her son, Percy Booth, at Savedge, after a lingering illness, were held Sunday at 2 P.M. at the Hopewell Funeral Parlors with the Rev. J.S. Duckwell, assisted by Rev. George Bishop, officiating. Interment was in Claremont Cemetery. Surviving are four sons, Oscar H. Booth, of Richmond; Magnus Booth of Prince George, Reginald Booth and John R. Booth, of Hopewell, and Percy Booth, of Savedge; four daughters, Mrs. L.D. Scott, of Hopewell; Mrs. A. Rex Booth, of Richmond; Mrs. W.B. Baird and Mrs. C.H. Ellis, of Savedge; four sisters, Mrs. P.H. Hargrave, of Colonial Heights; Mrs. Rollie Barrett, of Sedley; Mrs. Philip Hines, of Wakefield; Mrs. Ada Slade, of Dendron; four brothers, J.B. Barrett, of Colonial Heights; Hugh Barrett, of Alexandria; Philip Barrett, of Southampton and Waverly S. Barrett of Dendron; also seventeen grandchildren survive. Her husband (1854 - 1932) is also buried there. D.Cert. 21240 (Guilford #1) Mary & Thaddeus m. 20 Jul 1882 at her father's house. Southampton Co. MB5:6 gives her father as J.B.; M.Reg. 1882 p. 348 #89 gives him as S.B. Her parents, John Burwell III & Nancy (BARNES) BARRETT, are buried in a BARRETT family cemetery, off Barrett Church Rd., just below the Southampton-Sussex line.
