WAKEFIELD YOUTH DIES AT REUNION WAKEFIELD - Two year old Frederick Wayne Butler of Wakefield drowned Saturday night when he wandered away from his parents at a family reunion and fell into a cesspool. The accident occurred about 7 p.m. at the Littleton Hunt Club on Rt. 35 near Wakefield. Sussex County police reported the child was not missed until those at the reunion sat down to eat. Upon making a search, his body was found in a cesspool and members of the Waverly Rescue Crew were called to the scene. After working more than an hour and a half, the emergency crew was unable to revive the child. Surviving are his parents Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Wayne Butler Sr.; and three sisters, Pamela, Lisa and Ginger Butler, all of Wakefield; material grandmother, Mrs. Louise w. Freeman of Petersburg, his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Violet M. Goodrich of Wakefield; a maternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Ruth B. Munford, Wakefield and a paternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Jennie K. Borrell, Reading, Pa. Funeral services will be held today at 2:30 p.m. at the Purviance Funeral Home with burial in the Rocky Hock Methodist Church cemetery in Surry County. ****************************************************************************** FREDERICK WAYNE BUTLER, JR. 2-YEAR OLD FALLS INTO TANK, DIES WAKEFIELD - Frederick Wayne Butler, 2, son of Frederick Wayne and Mrs. Margaret Freeman Butler of Wakefield, drowned in a septic tank early Saturday night at the Littleton Hunt Club about 12 miles southwest of here, Dr. M.S. Rosenberg, Sussex County medical examiner, reported. The septic tank been broken by a vehicle driven over it. No details were available. He was born in Sussex County. Besides his parents, surviving are three sisters, Pamela Butler, Lisa Butler, and Ginger Butler of Wakefield; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Louise W. Freeman of Petersburg; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Violet M. Goodrich of Wakefield; maternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Ruth B. Munford of Wakefield; and paternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Jennie K. Borrell of Reading, Pa. A funeral service will be held today at 2:30 p.m. in Purviance Funeral Chapel by the Rev. W.L. Alford and the Rev. Robert L. Consolvo.
