MARY VIRGINIA ROGERS BAILEY 

  NORFOLK - Mary Virginia Rogers Bailey, 91, of Lydia Roper Home and formerly 
of Giles Circle in Norfolk, died Jan. 29, 1998, at a local hospital.  She was 
a native of Surry County. 

  A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at Hollomon-
Brown Funeral Home Tidewater Drive Chapel with the Revs. John F. Shappell and 
Herb Holton officiating.  A committal service will follow at 2:30 p.m. in 
Rocky Hock United Methodist Church Cemetery, Wakefield.

MARY VIRGINIA ROGERS BAILEY 

  NORFOLK - Mary Virginia Rogers Bailey, 91, of the Lydia Roper Home and 
formerly of Giles Circle, died Jan. 29, 1998, in a local hospital. 

  Born in Surry County, Va., Mrs. Bailey was a member of Norview United 
Methodist Church and former member of Rocky Hock United Methodist Church, 
Surry County, Va.   She was the widow of George Bernard Bailey and the 
daughter of the late George Washington and Ida Mae Rogers. 

  Survivors include a stepdaughter, Charlotte Bailey Holton of Norfolk; a 
stepson, George T. Bailey of Cordova, Tenn.; six grandchildren; seven great-
grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Rogers, Nell Rogers; and a 
niece and five nephews. 

  A funeral will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral 
Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, by the Rev. John F. Shappell and the Rev. Herb 
Holton.  Burial will be in Rocky Hock United Methodist Church Cemetery, 
Wakefield, Va., with the committal service at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.  The family 
will received friends at the funeral home 7 to 9 p.m. today.  In lieu of 
flowers memorial donations may be made to Lydia Roper Home, 127 E. 40th St., 
Norfolk, Va. 23504.
