BAILEY, 66 Burial services for R.J. Bailey, 66, who died Wednesday morning from pneumonia following an operation, were held Thursday afternoon at Rocky Hock cemetery by his pastor, the Rev. L.F. Callaham. He is survived by his wife, who before her marriage was Miss Annie Parson, four daughters, Mrs. S.E. Rives, of Wakefield, Mrs. Garland Hargrave of Petersburg, Mrs. H.B. Gatling of Craddock, Miss Kathleen Bailey and one son, Ralph Bailey, both of Wakefield; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Goodrich and Mrs. Mary Hart and one brother, C.R. Bailey, all of Wakefield. Active pallbearers were: J.H. Presson, F.F. Faison, H.L. Harris, J.C. Whitmore, Joshua W. Rogers, and R.A. IN HONOR OF: IN MEMORY OF: ROBERT J. BAILEY - 1870 - 1936 Obituary for Robert J. Bailey: "Robert J. Bailey died in January 1936 at age 66 from pneumonia following an operation. L.F. Callaham led the funeral. He was survived by his wife, Annie Laurie Parsons Bailey, and five children: Ruth B. Rives, Ray B. Hargrave, Hilda B. Jones, Kathleen B. Revelle, and Ralph J. Bailey. The pallbearers were J.H. Presson, F.F. Faison, H.L. Harris, J.C. Whitmore, Joshua W. Rogers, and R.A. Savedge." Robert was the son of Joseph and Darthula Bailey and the brother of Charles Rufus Bailey and Ansebelia Bailey Goodrich. He farmed all his life on the farm that we know today as Ralph Bailey's farm. He married Annie Laurie Parsons in 1892. She died in 1953 at Obici Hospital at the age of 82. Her five children and her sister, Mrs. Hutie Neblett, and a brother, James L. Parsons, survived her. The round stained glass window in the pulpit was given in their memory by their son, Ralph Bailey, and his wife, Martha.
