Mrs. Tela Bell, 83, Of Surry County Buried Jan. 18th 
             * * * 

  Mrs. Tela E. Bell, 83, of Surry County, wife of the late Alexander J. Bell, 
died Friday, December [sic; January] 17th at her home. 

  Surviving are four sons, Warren and Jesse B. Bell of Surry County; 
Benjamin T. Bell of Smithfield and Ollie Bell of Richmond; one daughter, 
Mrs Floyd A. Holland of Zuni; one sister Mrs. Bettie Dews of Surry County 
and 21 grandchildren. 

  The body was removed to the Jones Funeral Home in Smithfield where it 
remained until Saturday afternoon.  Services were held at the grave in 
Mill Swamp Cemetery with the Rev. L.E. Holzbach officiating.
