All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ FANNIE LAVANIA HUNT BLIZZARD DENDRON - Fannie Lavania Hunt Blizzard, 81, our beloved mother passed away in the comfort of her home on Wednesday, June 19, 2013. She was born September 21, 1931 to Simons and Beatrice Holmes Hunt. She was preceded in death by her devoted and loving husband of 51 years, Saint Louis Blizzard, Sr. and her brother, Jeremiah (Mable) Hunt and a devoted uncle and aunt who raised her, Isaac and Fannie Holmes. She was a faithful member of St. Mark Holiness Church until her health failed where she was a missionary and a church clerk. She also founded "Grandma’s Church" for her grandchildren to attend during the summer. She is survived by her seven children; L. Wallace Blizzard (Andra); Linda Ellis (Jarvis); Sharon Blizzard; Rena Parker (Wayne); Deborah Price (Glen); Tammy Thorb and Saint Louis Blizzard, Jr. She along with her husband raised two children, Priscilla Jones (Larry) and Alphonso Johns (Robyn). She is also survived by four sister-in-laws, Virginia Wilson; Eunice Cabel (Frank); Louise Lyttle (James); and Rosetta Young; 17 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A visitation will be held 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 23 at Poole’s Funeral Home, 8721 Colonial Trail East, Smithfield, VA 23430. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 24, at St. Paul’s Holiness Church, 8645 Rolfe Highway, Dendron, VA 23839. Family and friends are asked to assemble at 2407 Loafers Oak Rd., Dendron, at 10 a.m. Arrangements entrusted to Poole’s Funeral Home, Smithfield, VA.
