GEORGE EDWARD BENNETT 

GEORGE E. BENNETT, SURRY MERCHANT BURIED RECENTLY 

  George Edward Bennett, 68, lifelong resident and a merchant of Surry, died 
at his home December 4th at 3 a.m. after a long illness.

  He is survived by his wife Mrs. Ida Barham Bennett; one son William 
Thomas Bennett; one sister, Mrs. Virginia Younglove and several nieces 
and nephew all of Surry.

  The body was taken to the Bullock Funeral Home and on Saturday at 2:15 p.m. 
was taken to the grave in Oak Grove Methodist Church Cemetery where services 
were conducted at 3 o'clock by the pastor, the Rev. E.C. Smith.
