She was born in Dendron, Va. on June 18, 1913. She is survived by a son, Roy Earl Burgess, II; a daughter, Mary Kathryne Eck and husband, Larry; two granddaughters, Beth Fitzwater and husband, Kirby, and Julie Bennett and husband, Scott; and four great-grandchildren; Thomas, Grace, Sierra and Caleb. Mrs. Burgess was an active member of Boulevard United Methodist Church since, 1837, where she taught Kindergarten Sunday School and was a past president of the United Methodist Women. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Avenue. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, at Boulevard United Methodist Church. Interment is private. In lieu of Flowers, Contribution may be made to Boulevard United Methodist Church Endowment Fund. Estelle (COTTEN; Mrs. Roy E.)
