LUCY VIRGINIA TRUEHEART BURGESS 

  DENDRON - Mrs. Lucy Virginia Trueheart Burgess, 90, died Friday, May 15 
in Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg.

  She was a native of Surry County and a member of Elberon Congregation 
Church.  She was also a member of the Women’s Fellowship of Dendron and 
the Laurel Chapter #114 O.E.S. of Claremont.

  Survivors include her husband, Herman Oliver Burgess of Dendron; one 
daughter, Helen B. Morris of Dendron; two sons, Oliver Taylor Burgess of 
Norfolk and Herman T. Burgess of Petersburg; also five grandchildren and 
one great grandchild.

  Services were held Sunday, May 17 at Purviance Funeral Home in Wakefield 
with Dr. R.E. Brittle and Dr. Marshall Bonds officiating.  Burial was in 
Wakefield.

  Pallbearers were Wallace Faison, Gordon Price, Mack Cofer, Thurman 
Williams, Vernon Clark, Robert Moore, Ray E. Burgess and Mervin Price.

  Purviance Funeral Home in Wakefield was in charge of the arrangements.

   Her father, a KY native, served in Co. A, 46th VA Inantry, CSA. 

Her oldest brother Lewis T. (1881-1916) is buried in [Martins] Brandon 
   [Episcopal] Church Cemetery, Prince George Co.
