The weather is unusually cool for the time of year and frost comes every night, yet sickness and death are frequent. Diphtheria, typhoid fever and meningitis, are some of the causes of distress. Diphtheria and fever have been most prevalent in Dendron, but well controlled. October the 4th, little Byrl Barrett son of Bro. Hugh Barrett of Dendron, died of meningitis. The little spirit is gone to his Maker to await the arrival of father and mother. The boy was entered in the old plantation cemetery. Byrl [Burwell?*] BARRETT, son of M. Hugh & Carrie M.
