HOWARD B. BURT, SR. 

  Howard B. Burt, Sr, age 82, died Friday, August 15, 1980, at his home in 
Dendron, Va.  He was a native of Sussex County and a retired Surry County 
merchant.  He was a member of Dendron Baptist Church.  He is survived by 
his wife, Mrs. Louise K. Burt; one son, Howard B. Burt, Jr., Dendron; two 
daughters, Mrs. Louise B. Hines, Annandale, Va. and Mrs. Irene B. Boole, 
Georgia.  Funeral services will be held Monday, August 18, 11 a.m. in in 
Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield, Va.  Burial will be in Blandford 
Cemetery in Petersburg.  The family suggests memorials to Surry Count Rescue 
Squad or Dendron Baptist Church.  Family will receive friends at the funeral 
home Sunday evening, 7 to 8:30 p.m.
