Born in Surry County, she was a Wakefield resident until 1980. She was a member of Dendron United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, J. Spratley Barrett of Courtland; a half sister, Mrs. Elsie Gay Faison of Franklin; and a brother, John A. Tatum of Petersburg. A funeral will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, by the Rev. R.E. Brittle. Burial will be in Burton’s Grove Cemetery, near Wakefield.
