All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ PATTIE MAE BRITTLE MISS PATTIE BRITTLE BURIED SATURDAY AT BACON’S CASTLE Funeral services for Miss Pattie Mae Brittle, 50 [sic; 55*], who died Friday, April 23 at 8 a.m. after a long illness, were held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Bullock Funeral Home with services at the grave at the Old Brick Church Cemetery at Bacon’s Castle. The services were conducted by the Rev. J.F. Colston, pastor of the church. Miss Brittle was a daughter of J.E. and Florence Price Brittle and was born in Surry County [sic*] where she spent her entire life. In addition to her parents, she is survived by one sister, Mrs. Virgie Gay, of Wakefield, and three brothers: A.G. Brittle, of Hopewell and Herbert and Stanley Brittle, both of Smithfield. Pallbearers were Ira Price, Leroy Price, Albert Price, J.M. Rawlings, R.L. Goodrich and A.L. Goodrich. Pattie Mae BRITTLE, b. 2 Sep 1892, d. 23 Apr 1948, Williamsburg, interred in Old Brick Church Cemetery, Bacons Castle, 24 Apr 1948, donated obit, publication unknown *Birthdate &c. from D.Cert. 9389 (Williamsburg #77), . which gives b. Southampton Co. Her parents, James Edward & Florence Elmore "Nellie" (PRICE) BRITTLE, are also buried there.
