THELMA MARGUERITE BUTLER BRITTLE 

  WAKEFIELD - Mrs. Thelma Butler Brittle, 81, died Friday in Louise Obici 
Memorial Hospital, Suffolk. 

  She was born in Isle of Wight County and was retired as a seamstress. 

  She was a member of Rocky Hock United Methodist Church, Surry County. 

  Survivors include her stepmother, Mrs. Violet B. Goodrich of Wakefield; 
a daughter, Mrs. Catherine B. Drewry of Wakefield; a sister, Mrs. Hilda B. 
Mayes of Williamsburg; two stepsisters, Mrs. Rosa B. Logan of Wakefield and 
Mrs. Ester B. Wood of Suffolk; three stepbrothers, Frederick W. Butler of 
Waverly, Robert H. Butler, Jr. of Madeira Beach, Fla., and Thomas W. Butler 
of Chesapeake; a grandchild; and three great-grandchildren. 

  A funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Monday in Purviance Funeral Chapel, 
Wakefield, by the Rev. E. Lee Chattin. 

  Burial will be in Rocky Hock Church Cemetery, Surry County. 

  The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight in the funeral home. 

  The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of 
contributions to Rocky Hock United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or the Ivor 
Rescue Squad.

  WAKEFIELD - Thelma Marguerite Butler Brittle, 81, died Friday, June 27 in 
Louise Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk. 

  She was a native of Isle of Wight County and a member of Rocky Hock United 
Methodist Church. 

  Survivors include one daughter, Catherine B. Drewry, Wakefield; one sister, 
Hilda B. Mayes, Williamsburg; one granddaughter, Ann Drewry Hayes of Tucson, 
Az.; her step-mother, Violet Butler Goodrich, Wakefield; three half-brothers, 
Fred Butler of Waverly, Jim Butler of Maderra Beach, Fla., and Tom Butler of 
Chesapeake; two half-sisters, Rosa B. Logan of Wakefield and Ester B. Wood of 
Suffolk; and three great-grandchildren. 

  Services were held at Purviance Funeral Home in Wakefield Monday, June 30 
with the Rev. E. Lee Chattin officiating.  Burial was in Rocky Hock United 
Methodist Church Cemetery. 

  Purviance Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Dean and Robert Butler.  She was the widow of Tyler Samuel Butler. 

  She was a seamstress. 

  She was a member of Rocky Hock United Methodist Church. 

  Survivors include a daughter, Catherine B. Drewry of Wakefield; a sister, 
Hilda B. Mayes of Williamsburg; two half-sisters, Rosa B. Logan of Wakefield 
and Ester B. Wood of Suffolk; three half-brothers,  Fred Butler of Waverly, 
Jim Butler of Maderra Beach, Fla., and Tom Butler of Chesapeake; her step-
mother, Violet Butler Goodrich of Wakefield; a granddaughter; and three great-
grandchildren. 

  Funeral services were conducted Monday, June 30, from the Purviance Funeral 
Home Chapel, Wakefield, by the Rev. E. Lee Chattin. 

  Burial followed in Rocky Hock United Methodist Church Cemetery. 

  Memorial donations may be made to Rocky Hock United Methodist Church 
Memorial Fund or to the Ivor Volunteer Rescue Squad.
