BARLOW BURIED TUESDAY Funeral services for John Wesley Barlow, 51, who died suddenly at his home near Bacons Castle Sunday, were held Tuesday afternoon at the residence with the Rev. J.A. Cales officiating. Active pallbearers were Ray and Albert Holleman, Lee and Glenn Hunnicutt, George Barlow, Jr. and John Albert Wells. Burial was in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Mary Holleman Barlow; his step-mother, Mrs. Molly Barlow; two sons, Linwood B. and Charles W. Barlow of Bacons Castle; two daughters, Mrs. W.A. Savage and Mrs. P.G. McHugh; both of Newport News; a grandson, Ronny McHugh; four brothers, George S., Vernon, Henry and John Weston Barlow, and four sisters, Mrs. Gray Goodrich of Bacons Castle; Mrs. Benna Bassett, Mrs. E.W. Tillman and Miss Rebecca Barlow, all of Newport News. Sarah & her mother Ida J. (BEALE) HOLLEMAN died of extensive burns, 6 Aug 1920, when they accidentally used kerosene mixed with gasoline in the oil stove. (D.Certs. #21054 & #21053 {Cobham #18 & 17}, respectively) He 2m. 24 Feb 1921 Sarah's sis Mary Ward HOLLEMAN. Their m.lic. & the Gates Co., NC M.Reg. both give Mary W. Holland. Widowed, she 2m. Putnam ROWELL.
