LEE BARLOW 

A VERY SAD DEATH 

  Lee Barlow died February 1 at his home at Bacon's Castle where he had lived 
most of his life.  He was 61 years old. [sic*] 

  He was buried at the Old Brick Church where many of his lived ones were 
gathered, Rev. Dr. Paulette, of Smithfield conducted the burial services.

  The active pallbearers were Jeff McBurman, Leroy Pierce, Jessie Warren, Rob 
Pittman, Curtis Pittman, and Davis Barlow, his nephews.  There were many 
beautiful flowers.

  He is survived by his wife and ten children.  He had been married three 
times and there were five children by his first marriage, they were Mrs. 
Bruce Holleman, Wesley Barlow, Vernard Barlow, Mrs. Gray Goodrich, of Bacon's 
Castle and George Barlow, of Emporia.  Three children by his second marriage, 
Dennis Henry and Lucille Barlow, and two by his third marriage, Rebecca and 
John Winston Barlow.  Seventeen grandchildren also survive him.

   Find a Grave has the cemetery listed as Lower Surry Cemetery. 

His brother Pembroke Decatur BARLOW [II] is buried there also. 

Their mother, Martha Frances (GWALTNEY BARLOW; Mrs. Wm.H.) McCOY, is buried 
   there with her second husband. 

Lee 1m. Rebecker Jane (PITTMAN) BARLOW {1863-1910}, 20 Nov 1884, Surry Co. 
   She is buried with Lee. 

He 2m. Georgie Denna (PECK) BARLOW {1885-1919}, 29 Nov 1911, Surry Co. 
   (Ancestry.com "Virginia Marriages")  Her D.Cert. gives buried Surry Co. 

He 3m. Georgie's ½-sis "Mollie" Mary Rebecca (PECK WILCOX) BARLOW {1890-1965}. 

Mollie is buried with her first husband John H. WILCOX in 
   Moores Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery, Elberon.
