Born in Southampton Co., she was the daughter of the late A.J. (Jake) and Bertha Vick Branch. Having spent most of her adult life in Charlottesville, Va., she was financial secretary at Blue Ridge sanatorium for over 40 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Richmond, Va. Preceded in death by her nephew, Richard D. Branch, she is survived by four nephews, J.C. Whitmore Jr. and Dallas R. Eggleston of Wakefield, Va., W.J. Branch Jr. of New Bern, N.C., J.C. Branch of Chesapeake, Va.; two nieces, Martha Branch Andreau of St. Augustine, Fla., and Peggy Branch Harrison of Elizabeth City, N.C.; several great and great-great nieces and nephews and one great-great-great nephew. A graveside service and burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 16, in the Rocky Hock United Methodist Church Cemetery, 2745 White Marsh Road, Wakefield, Va. A memorial service will be held at Lakewood Manor at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church, 2709 Monument Ave., Richmond, VA 23220 or to Lakewood Manor, 1900 Lauderdale Drive, Richmond, VA 23233.
