She was born in Feb. 14, 1919 in Dendron, Va., to the late Lizzie Bagley Holmes-Walker and Jacob Holmes. She joined St. Paul Holiness Church at an early age and attended when she could also attending Mount Nebo Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Allen, Jr., her second husband, Percell Branch, Sr., her son, Percell Branch, Jr., son-in-law, Jimmy Parrish, and grandson, Keith Murphy Jr. She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Thomas Allen (Dorothy) of Bethlehem, Pa., Juliet Elizabeth Allen Parrish of Plainfield, N.J., Ruby Allen Daniels of Reigalwood, N.J., Henrietta B. Tullis of Surry, Va., Dorothy Branch and Laura Branch of Plainfield, N.J., James Branch, Benjamin Branch (Virginia) and Joseph Lewis Branch all of Surry, Va.; two daughters-in-law, Virginia White of Martenburg, W.Va.; 21 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, 2006, at St. Paul Holiness Church with Pastor Earnest Greene, officiating. Interment will be in the Branch Family Cemetery. Viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Poole’s Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.
