BERRYMAN, 73, NOTED ARCHITECT, BURIED AT SURRY George R. Berryman, of Surry, retired architect, died Sunday night, January 20, 1957, at a Richmond hospital. He was 73. He specialized in designing churches, colleges, hospitals, public schools and other public buildings throughout North Carolina and nearby states. As a young man and after retiring to private practice, he was a resident engineer and supervising architect in government service. Survivors include his wife; brother, R.W. Berryman, and a sister, Mrs. Joel Savedge, all of Surry County; a daughter, Mrs. William Hammill of Los Angeles; a son, George Robert Berryman of Washington, and four grandchildren. A graveside service was held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Surry Cemetery. George R.
