Rites Held Today For Mrs. Berryman 

  SMITHFIELD, July 27 - Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Berryman, 86, 
who died at her home in Surry County yesterday morning after a long illness, 
were held today at 4 p.m. at the residence. 

  Conducting the services was the Rev. Robert J. Callis, pastor of the Oak 
Grove Methodist Church.  Burial followed in the family burial grounds. 

  Pallbearers were Mrs. Berryman's grandsons - Wayne, Buddy, Eugene, Ernest, 
Ollie and Jack. 

  A lifelong resident of Surry County, and the widow of John Henry Berryman, 
she was a member of the Oak Grove Methodist Church. 

  She is survived by four sons, William T., Henry M., Lollie G., and Shirley 
W. Berryman, all of Surry County; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, 
and three great-great-grandchildren. 

  The body was taken to the Bullock Funeral Home in Smithfield.

Her mother's name was Martha Ann Elizabeth.
