An Unrivalled Record - Married 900 Couples and Officiated at 800 Funerals. [Correspondence of the Richmond Dispatch.] SURRY COURTHOUSE, VA., April 15. - The funeral of Rev. R.W. Berryman, one of the oldest and most highly-respected citizens of the county, took place from Oak Grove Methodist Protestant church on Monday morning at 10:30 o'clock. The deceased had just completed the seventy-fifth year of a most useful and exemplary Christian life. He was a very bright and active Mason, and up to the time of his death was a constant attendant upon his lodge here, of which he had been chaplain for over thirty-five years. Rev. Dr. Sullivan, who performed the last rites, preached one of the most impressive and comforting sermons from the 37th verse of the 37th Psalm: "Mark the perfect man and behold the upright; for the end of that man is peace." A GREAT RECORD. Mr. Berryman leaves a most unusual professional record, having performed the ceremony at the marriage of 900 couples and officiated at over 800 funerals during his ministry. Mr. Berryman leaves an aged widow and an unusually large family of children and grandchildren to mourn their loss. The large attendance at the funeral, notwithstanding the bad condition of the roads, and the lovely and elaborate floral tributes, were mutely expressive of the tender regard and universal respect of his innumerable host of friends.
