Brewer Sr., 69, husband of Mrs. Hazil Brewer and son of the late Walter and Mrs. Elizabeth Brewer, died yesterday at 5:15 p.m. He was a native of Hertford N.C., and a resident of this section for the past 29 years, residing at 2144 Thoroughgood Rd., Bayside, at the time of his death. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Luther M. Brewer Jr., and one daughter, Mrs. J.P. McCullough, Jr., both of Norfolk, two granddaughters and one grandson. The body was taken to the H.D. Birthdate &c. from D.Cert. 8496 (Norfolk #642), which gives Rosewood Memorial Park as being in Norfolk. His widow, Hazel Evelyn (BILLINGS) BREWER 2m. widower Benjamin E. BAUGH, Sr., of Spring Grove, Surry Co. He is buried with his first wife in Waverly Cemetery. Hazel is buried in Claremont Cemetery. His first wife, Mary Eugenia (WHITMORE) BREWER, was killed in her pantry 1 Jul 1922, when lightning struck their Dendron home. She is buried with her parents & grandparents in Union Christian Church Cemetery.
