CELESTE ELLIS CHAPMAN 

  SURRY - Mrs. Celeste Ellis Chapman, 84, the widow of Putman G. Chapman, 84, 
the widow of Putnam G. Chapman, died Monday morning in Chesapeake General 
Hospital.

  She was a native of Prince George County and was a former deputy treasurer 
of Surry County.  She was also a member of Surry United Methodist Church.

  Survivors include several cousins.  A funeral will be held today at 2 p.m. 
in Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield, by the D.L. Bays.

  Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Surry.

  Memorial donations may be made to Surry County Rescue Squad or Surry 
Volunteer Fire Department.
