COFER SURRY - Mrs. Lorraine Nolan Cofer, 68, died Wednesday in a traffic accident in Surry County. She was born in Amelia County She was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church and the Surry Garden Club and a charter member of the Women’s Club of Surry. She was treasurer for the Oak Grove Cemetery Association for 10 years and a volunteer for American Red Cross for 10 years. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Beulah C. Mitchell of Norfolk; her mother, Mrs. Beulah Grace Wagner Nolan of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Mrs. Merle N. Simpson of Virginia Beach, and Mrs. Lois N. Dienstberger of Fayetteville, N.C.; a brother, William Franklin Nolan of Norfolk; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, by the Rev. Richard J. Risser. Burial will be in Oak Grove Church Cemetery. The family is at the residence.
