MYRTLE "MYRTIE" LEE MATTHEWS COOPER 

MRS. COOPER'S RITES SATURDAY 

  WAKEFIELD - Mrs. Myrtie Matthews Cooper, 63, of Surry County died Wednesday 
in a Richmond hospital. 

  A lifelong resident of Surry County, she was a member of the Rocky Hock 
Methodist Church. 

  Surviving are her husband, F. Stanley Cooper; and six sisters, Mrs. 
Clarice Cofer of Dendron, Mrs. Hazel Luce of Arcadia, Calif., and Mrs. R.A. 
Ligon, Mrs. Kathleen Protzman, Mrs. Elizabeth Shaw and Mrs. Willie Townsend, 
all of Richmond. 

  A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in Purviance Funeral 
Chapel, Wakefield, with burial in the Rocky Hock Church Cemetery.

  Mrs. Myrtie Matthews Cooper, 63, of Wakefield, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, in 
a Richmond hospital after a 3 day illness. 

  A native of lifelong resident of Surry County, she was the wife of F. 
Stanley Cooper and a daughter of James Robert and Mrs. Addie Holdsworth 
Matthews.  She was a member of Rocky Hock Methodist Church. 

  Besides her husband, she is survived by six sisters; Mrs. R.R. Cofer of 
Dendron, Mrs. Hazel Luce of Arcadia, Calif., Mrs. R.A. Ligon, Mrs. Lewis 
Protzman, Mrs. K.W. Shaw, and Mrs. M.L. Townsend, all of Richmond. 

  A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 11, in 
Purviance Funeral Chapel by the Rev. E.B. Owen.  Burial will be in Rocky Hock 
Cemetery. 

  Pallbearers will be Willie Clarke, Morris Ellis, R.M. Pond, James W. Cooper, 
B.E. Cowling, Sr., J.L. Goodrich, Johnnie Clark, Richard Andrews and Raymond 
Brittle.
