PAULINE ISABEL JOHNSON COFER 

  DENDRON - Mrs. Pauline Johnson Cofer, 76, widow of T. Linwood Cofer, died 
Saturday, Sept. 24, at Patrick Henry Hospital in Newport News, where she had 
been a resident for the past nine years.

  A native of Surry County, Mrs. Cofer was a member of the Dendron United 
Methodist Church, and Laurel Chapter #114, The Order of the Eastern Star in 
Claremont.

  She is survived by a son, Malcolm T. "Mac" Cofer of Smithfield; a daughter, 
Mrs. Alice Ruth Nicholas of Richmond; two sisters, Mrs. Katherine J. Fox of 
Seaford, Mrs. Edna J. Wyatt of Detroit, Mich., and a grandson, Thomas Edward 
Cofer.

  A funeral service was held Monday, Sept. 26, at the graveside in Waverly 
Cemetery, by the Rev. Cooper.  The family suggests that Memorial Donations be 
made to the Dendron United Methodist Church or the Dendron Volunteer Fire 
Department.

  Purviance Funeral Home in Wakefield was in charge of arrangements.
