She was a lifelong of Surry County and a member of the Surry Baptist Church. She was the daughter of Roland E. and Otelia Wrenn Collier. She had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Virginia Doris Brooks in Sutherland for the past 8 months. She is survived by another daughter, Miss Ora Essie Clodfelter of Petersburg; two sisters, Mrs. Frances C. Barlow and Mrs. Mary C. Cooke, both of Dendron and two grandsons, Joseph M. Brooks, Jr., and Earl Brooks of Sutherland. A funeral service was held Saturday at 4:00 p.m. in the Purviance Funeral Chapel with Rev. Robert M. McKinley and Dr. R.E. Brittle officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery in Surry. Active pallbearers were J. Paul Wrenn, B. Frank Wrenn, Freeman S. Wrenn, J. Gordon Smith, Virgil Reeves, Wilson W. Collier, Basil W. Bryant and David Lee Holtsworth. Honorary bearers were friends of the family.
