Collier of Franklin, formerly of Dendron, died at the home of his parents in First Avenue here August 24. The little fellow had been a great sufferer all of his life and had not responded to the treatment of many specialists who had endeavored to give him relief. The bereaved father and mother have the general sympathy of their friends both here and at Dendron. Funeral services were held from the home Sunday afternoon at 1:30, conducted by the Rev. Mr. Linthicum of the Dendron M.E. Church, assisted by Dr. Geo. H. Spooner and Rev. R.D. Stephenson of this town. Mrs. F.E. Howell, Miss Claudia Barrett, J. Edgar Weede and J. Edward Moyler sang "Safe in the Arms of Jesus." Interment was made at Waverly at 4 o’clock where the little mound was covered with a profusion of beautiful flowers. "There Shall Be No Disappointment in Heaven" was sung at the graveside by Mrs. P.I. Leadbetter, Mrs. Sam Atkinson, Mrs. Bob Bishop, Mrs. Luther Williams, Frank Grubb, Mrs. Linthicum, Miss Ethel Faison and Eddie Gladden. The body bearers were cousins of Hefty, Bert Collier, Rooney Stringfield, Beverly Ingram, and Wilton Cotton, and the flowers bearers were; Eugene Thomas Collier, William Collier, Melvin, Norman and Marion Rollings and Charles Crawford Rawls.
