EMMETT J. CLARK 

J.C. CLARKE [sic; E.J. CLARK*] DIES WHILE PLOWING

  DENDRON - Emmett J. Clarke, son of the late Jim C. Clarke and his wife, 
Amanda White [sic*] Clarke, died Monday, June 27 at 5 p.m. while plowing in 
his field.

  Survivors besides his widow who was formerly Miss Sadie Savedge of Elberon 
are two sons, Walter Clarke and Arthur Lee Clarke, of Richmond; two grandsons 
also of Richmond; two brothers, Robert Clarke and Alex Clarke of Carsley; two 
sisters, Mrs. Virginia Burgess of Spring Grove, and Mrs. Mattie Brockwell of 
Disputanta and a number of nieces and nephews.  A sister, Mrs. George Hall of 
Marion, S.C., proceeded him in death last week.

   Amanda White?, b. Chesterfield Co. 

His bro George Sam CLARKES's D.Cert. (1934-20334 {Blackwater #9}) gives 
   Manda A. Crary, b. unknown.   

Their bro Jos. Alex CLARKES's D.Cert. (1946-18350 {Guilford #4}) gives 
   Amanda Queery, b. Ireland; the 1900 Census gives b. VA.   

Their bro Robert A. CLARKES's D.Cert. (1956-27922 {Guilford #2}) gives 
   Amanda ???.
