JAMES RUSSELL CLARKE 

  James Russell Clarke, 79, a retired Dupont employee of Satsums, Fla., 
formerly of Richmond died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 1981.  He is survived by his 
wife, Mrs. Peggy Clarke, two sons, Harold of Palatka, Fla. and Keith Clarke 
of Bristol, TN; one sister, Mrs. Marion Jones; three brothers, Herman H., 
Al Bernice Clarke all of Richmond and Robert H. Clarke of Waverly, Va.; 
five grandchildren; three grant-grandchildren.  His remains will rest at 
the Joseph W. Bliley Funeral Homes Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull St. Rd. Fri. 
afternoon.  Funeral notice later.

b. 6 Sep 1901, Dendron, d. 13 Jan 1981, Putnam Co., FL, 
interred in Sunset Memorial Park*, Chester,

   Waverly Cemetery. 

His in-laws, Thomas Jackson & Minnie (FAISON) WHITMORE, are buried in 
   Union Christian Church Cemetery, Surry Co. 

He was a pallbearer for his paternal uncle Robert A. CLARKE, 1 Dec 1956, also 
   at Waverly Cemetery.  Robert's obit ("Sussex-Surry Dispatch," Dec. 6, 1956)
