Edwards, died very suddenly at his home Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. He is survived by four brothers, Octavious B., John H., Tiberious E., Jesse D. Edwards, and one sister, Mrs. Kate Edwards Jones of Smithfield, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at Bethany M.E. Church by the Pastor, Rev. E.W. Rawlings, assisted by Dr. J. Paul Tyler, District Superintendent, Portsmouth-Newport News District. Burial was in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers were Compton Edwards; Eugene Jones, Jack Jones; Franklin Edwards, William Edwards, Page Joyner, Nonnie Holleman, Raney Stallings, nephews of the deceased. Honorary pallbearers were the member of Bethany Men's Bible Class.
