BENJAMIN ROBERT EDWARDS 

  CHESAPEAKE - Benjamin Robert Edwards, 74, died Thursday, May 18 in Maryview 
Hospital, Portsmouth.

  He was a native of Smithfield and a member of Deep Creek United Methodist 
Church.

  A printer, he retired from Norfolk Newspapers in 1973 and was a member of 
International Typographical Union.

  Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Brittle Edwards; one son, Dan R. Edwards 
of Chesapeake; and one grandchild.

  A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Union Christian 
Church cemetery, Surry County, by Dr. R.E. Brittle.

  The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight in Purviance Funeral 
Home.
