C.M. ELLIS DENDRON, July 11 - The funeral of Mrs. Belle Stephenson Ellis, 56 years of age, wife of Mr. C.M. Ellis, of Surry, was held this morning at Surry at 11 o'clock, by Rev. A.W. Linthleum, pastor of the Surry Methodist Church, assisted by Rev. A.A. Pierce, of Madison, Md., and Rev. H.P. Dalton, of Petersburg. The deceased, who died Tuesday night after a lingering illness of several months, is survived, in addition to her husband, by one daughter, Mrs. P.G. Chapman, of Surry, and two sisters, Mrs. G.M. Cox, of Savedge, and Mrs. Tela Matthews of Norfolk. The pallbearers were J.W. Fuqua, A.W. Bohannon, J.H. Savedge, J.F. Barlow, T.H. Crymes and H.L. Rollins. Choirs from the various churches at Surry sang "Old Rugged Cross" and "Sweet Bye and Bye". Interment was in the cemetery at Surry. Mary Belle (STEPHENSON; Mrs. Charles M.)
