ELLIS WAKEFIELD - Mrs. Josie Bell Ellis, 80, of Surry County, died Tuesday at her home after a long illness. She was the widow of Clifton M. Ellis. Mrs. Ellis was a member of Rocky Hock Methodist Church, Surry County. Survivors include two sons, C.M. Ellis, Jr. and Henry M. Ellis of Wakefield; two daughters, Mrs. A.A. Hux of Louisville, Ky. And Mrs. S.C. McFather of Amarillo, Tex.; one brother, H.H. Bell, Jr. of Richmond; one sister, Mrs. W.H. Cox of Elberon; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday in the Purviance Funeral Home chapel, Wakefield. Burial will be in Rocky Hock Church Cemetery, Surry County. ****************************************************************************** JOSIE WARREN BELL ELLIS Josie Warren Bell Ellis, 80, died May 21, at her home in Surry County after a long illness. A life-long resident of Surry County, she was the daughter of Henry Hart and Lucy Faison Bell. She was the widow of C.M. Ellis, Sr. She is survived by 2 sons, C. Morris Ellis, Jr. and Henry M. Ellis, both of Wakefield; 2 daughters, Mrs. A.A. Hux of Louisville, Kentucky, and Mrs. S.C. McFather of Amarillo, Texas. She is also survived by a brother, H.H. Bell, Jr. of Richmond; a sister, Mrs. W.H. Cox of Elberon; 7 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. The funeral services are today at Purviance Funeral Chapel at 3:00 p.m. The burial will be at Rocky Hock Methodist Church in Surry County. She was a member of the this church. The Rev. Edward B. Owen and the Rev. L.P. Bland will officiate. The nephews of the deceased will be pallbearers.
