William Thomas Forrest died at his residence in Norfolk Wednesday, October 10th, at 6:15 A.M. after a lingering illness. In Isle of Wight, Surry, and Smithfield, Capt. Forrest was well known and highly respected, as was attested by the beautiful floral offerings and large attendence at the Funeral services held at the Holliman, Brown Funeral Home at 1:30 P.M. Thursday. Rev. F.A. Bobbitt of Park Ave. Baptist Church assisted Dr. H.W. Tiffany of Park Place Church and Rev. T.W. Page of Bacon's Castle, conducted the services. "In the Garden" was beautifully rendered by Redwood Richardson, after which interment took place in the Cemetery where many friends had assembled to pay the last tribute of respect. Captain Forrest had a large family relationship in York County, many of whom attended the funeral - a sister, Mrs. Dolly Messick, a brother John Forrest. A group of nephews and nieces sang "The Eastern Gate" very sweetly during the burial service. He leaves a widow, who was Buena V. Quinn of York County; a son, Leamon L. Forrest, and three daughters, Mrs. Hazzel Pye, Miss Adele Ward Forrest, Mrs. Busness Ansell, and three grandchildren. The sympathy of the entire community in which Captain Forrest lived, goes out to the sorrowing family. Capt.
